Guri Guri!!

Success!!  It came out so ono! And it was easy to make too.

I combined 24 ounces (2 cans) of strawberry soda with 12 ounces (1 can) of 7-Up, a can (14 oz) of condensed milk and 1/4 cup of heavy whipping cream. I put everything except the condensed milk in the 'fridge ahead of time so that they would be cold.

I put half of the mixture in the ice cream maker and let it churn. I covered the puka on top with my Marukai flyer 'cause I wanted it to stay as cold as possible.

After about 1/2 hour it was ready. Luckily, Leslie has two freezer buckets so I could do the second batch right after the first.

Whatever we didn't eat right away, I put in a container and threw it in the freezer for later.

I wondered aloud if I should get me an ice cream maker, and Landon said that it would be too dangerous for us. Unfortunately that's only too true.

Yay..success!!! Best part is eating your creation. It looks SO ono!!! Love the color and texture. That's a nice Cuisinart, that's the way to go. Jalna, seems like you're a renaissance woman, getting proficient at what you do. Guri Guri would hit the spot during the summer after a session of surf.By the way, had a wonderful childhood, blessed thank you.

For real yah, L!!

Ooooooh, Mich.

Chet, it was so good straight from the "pot".

Thanks, Kat.

Thanks for letting me borrow, Les.

Now i want some guri guri... never heard of it here. I might have to make some too. I'm curious about the taste.

Susan, I remember eating it as an "ice cake" a long time ago, where it is frozen without churning. To eat you scrape, scrape, scrape with a spoon. I think your grandkids would love it!

I have a similar recipe...everything but the whipping cream. I'm going to have to try that. My preference is to only use 1/2 can of the 7UP but maybe with the whipping cream it might be okay. I thought with the whole can of 7UP it wasn't as creamy. You don't need an ice cream maker. All you gotta do is freeze it. But after it freeze once, I put in a food processor to soften it up and then freeze again.
