j: I lived on Maui for a few years and I have never ever been to Hana and eaten guri guri. I was never curious about it and had relatives and friends go crazy over guri guri but never had the desire to even now. Maybe if I ever try it I'll the going crazy over it. -N

Good luck! Our kids learned how to make it at Waialae Elementary when they were in the 5th grade. I still remember it because it was so easy. Diamond Head strawberry soda, sweet condensed milk. Put in a bowl (or cups) and then in the freezer. As it starts to freeze, stir, and then freeze, continue for a few times, and it can be eaten when all frozen.

Yours might taste mo bettah and not have the stirring steps. For sure, going come out goooodie!

I know it'll turn out well, and if it doesn't, practice make perfect. I remember when we were young my brother. sisters and I made ice cream from the homemade machine. it came out decent, it wasn't Hagen-Dagz, but for amateurs ok.

Came out better than I expected, Les. I think I'm done though, and I got plenty leftover ingredients. You might be getting them when I return your ice cream maker.

N, I went to Hana once. My coworker is from there, and three of us from work stayed at her parent's house for the weekend. It was so much fun. I'm so surprised that you never tried guri guri.

Thanks, Aunty. The results will be on tomorrow's blog post!

Sounds like you had a fun childhood, Chet.
