You know you're serious swap meet shoppers when all of your purchases don't fit into your rolly things, and you have to resort to tying bags onto their handles. My cart is the one on the right. It's stuffed with fabric and a mahogany bowl. The bubble mailers cost me $10 for 10 big and 20 small envelopes. Good deal, yah!
Sweetie bought guppies and water plants for $1.
Geri paid around $7 for this orchid plant.
These mangoes were $1/pound.
This was $2. Didi bought it for Geri's granddaughter.
Lately, I been lazy to take pictures while at the swap meet, but I'll try to do better in the future.
Years ago in the 1970's I used to go sell things at the old Kam Drive In Theater swap meet. Remember those days? I think that was before the Stadium swap meet days.
And I remember in about 1970, I used to the Kam Drive In, in my 1969 VW Beetle to watch the Bruce Lee Kung Fu movies! So I felt right at home! ; )
Wow you get there at 6:30 a.m., totally serious shoppers but you find really good bargains! I'd like to go but I too can't resist a great bargain and I'm afraid I'll end up with stuff I don't really need. Want yes but not need, need. Like the guppy, I would buy it so fast, man. BTW regarding those millfruits candy, Ebay sent me an email w/ this info today: Get it now for $3.37 Offer ends on Sunday, September 13 2015. It's for one package of it. -N
Awwww, thanks Alibaba. I'll think of you while I'm there, and try to remember to take pictures.
You're right, N. Sometimes by the time I get home, I'm wondering to myself, now why did I buy that? And it goes straight into my "goodwill" box. So crazy. $3.37 is a good price for the candy. I paid around $30 for six bags on Amazon.
Mark, you should see at Kam Swap Meet . . . sometimes a feel nervous for the sellers because of the crowd that sometimes gathers around them while they're still unloading. Kinda scary.
Same thing happened to me Jalna. I got to the Kam Swap Meet very early to set up. Like 7am. This was about 1974 when I was home from college for the summer. My Dad asked me to take things to the swap meet to sell for him. He had lots of tools and samples to sell from his new import business after Wigwam.
I started setting up......and I was immediately swamped by people going through my boxes before I could even get my tables set up! Seriously!
I had to yell at the people to stop it! Seriously!

We go early, Mich. We get there around 6:30 and leave at around 9:30.
Funny, Erick.
Back in the day we used to go to Waialae Drive In, Mark. I can't believe Kam swap meet was from the 70's. Still got um you know.
I always love your swap meet posts. You all find such great deals!

I guess times have not changed!
I haven't been to the Kam Swap meet in ages and ages and ages. Now you're making me want to go. It's so much fun to see what you got.
I think that's part of the fun too, Kay . . . not really knowing what you'll end up with.
I can't believe the mango price. I won't even tell you what we have to pay for South American or Mexican mangoes here. You would cry. Just like I do.
So fun! So cheap!
