Mrs. Y's Supah Ono Lavosh

My sister's mother-in-law makes the best, best, best lavosh. She makes all kine varieties including sesame seed, guava-glazed, lilikoi-glazed and nut-crusted lavosh.  Here are some photos that my sister took while she watched her mother-in-law in action.

Looks like hard work so I will appreciate eating lavosh even more next time. What did she spread on the flattened dough before baking?

j: awesome always wanted to learn how to make it! and not hard either. Questions though, do you punch down the dough after letting it rise or you just grab it and make the 10-12 balls. But in the pix there are three sheets and not balls? do you roll out each ball then keeping others? until it fits the pan? what about the butter mix she's whisking on the sheets before baking? thanks so much -N

Could you please post the lilikoi and guava glazes.

Thank you,
Renee

I believe that was the lilikoi glaze, Aunty.

N, my sister said no punching down. I think she knows the size of each ball so she doesn't need to proportionate it out as instructed. I think it's lilikoi glaze that she's brushing on.

Looks hard to make to me, Kat.

I'll ask, Renee.

Renee, Geri said she uses Liko Lehua brand jams (from Longs) and adds melted butter to um.

Wow, this looks good!...what is it? flat bread? Passion fruits jam sounds good on this. Thanks for the recipe!

Can you imagine the mess we'd make though, Les!!

It does yah, Kay. Unfortunately, it's way out of my league to make.

It's like a thin cracker, Akemi.
