Pastrami Sandwich from This is It Bakery and Deli

I went to Fisher Hawaii a couple of weeks ago and remembered that Jenny of maybeitsjenny blog wrote about a pastrami sandwich that she had gotten from This is It Bakery and Deli which is right across the street from Fisher. Although I still had a few more errands to run and wouldn't be eating the sandwich for another couple of hours I decided to go pick one up anyway. By the time I got to eating the sandwich, it was all soggy, but OMG, I totally agree with Jenny . . . it was really, really good.

It was also really, really expensive . . . $9.45.  But I wouldn't hesitate to buy it again the next time I'm in the area.

Chips or potato salad comes with the sandwich. If you choose chips, don't forget to grab your bag from the bins in front of the counter.

One time I was early and I called to place my takeout order and this loco moco guy w/ no personality goes, yeah dis is da bakery, no we stay closed, we wen close 1 pm today. I was like what??!! And that was months ago. I'll keep trying, maybe June! -N

I tried the pastrami sandwich and corned beef sandwich too after reading MaybeItsJenny's review!

She has great food reviews - makes me hungry and so I check out her recommendations if and when I am out in the area, though not the Japanese sushi places - too pricey for me since I like cheap and fast eats.

She is better than Yelp!

Awwww, just like Wendell, N. He went there on Saturday and they had just closed. He was so disappointed.

I agree, Aunty, she got some good reviews!!

They close early, Kay . . . 2:30 pm on weekdays and 2:00 pm on Saturday.

Ahhh! So glad you liked it! You're backing up my review! :) Glad you and Honolulu Aunty enjoy the food reviews, I try to be honest in my critique! Bet the juicy pastrami sogging up the bread is just fine, I would have been fine with that too. :)

Akemi, for the longest time I thought it was just a bakery that made bagels!

Yah, Jenny. I want another one right now!

hmmmm...were they nice to you? I've been there twice and the lady wasn't very friendly. Actually she was kinda mean. Dr. Muranaka agrees with me. Too bad cause he would give them plenty business. He doesn't buy goodies for the staff from there anymore because of her. Their bagels are good but! Maybe I can take Kathy or Lauren with me next time. They don't take crap from anybody!

Oooooo, Sandwich Nazi Lady. I musta not have had her when I went. Service was not Japan-friendly, but it was okay. But if I ever get the Sandwich Nazi Lady, I'd do whatever she orders me to do . . . just so I can have another pastrami sandwich. BTW, I just warned Wendell so that he no get all mad and yell at her if he should ever get her. He's been wanting to try out the sandwich ever since I told him about it, and he can get riled if he's mistreated.
