Takayama to Kanazawa

It rained and rained and rained today. Wasn't sure if I would have preliminary pictures for you today because I was kinda reluctant to bust out my iPad to take pictures. I doubt it's as weather proof as my camera. Talking about my camera . . . for some reason its weight and bulk have been annoying me on this trip. I love the quality of the photos it takes but it's become just too heavy for me to travel with. I'm thinking of investing in something smaller. But that's for another story, yah.

For today's post, the first photo is from UNESCO World Heritage Site Shirakawa-go. It wasn't easy holding an umbrella while shooting this with my iPad, but I felt compelled to share this view with you today. I'll have a similar photo for you later taken with my "real" camera. Next is once again a grilled mochi. YUMMMM! After that is a picture from Kenroku-en Garden, ranked as one of Japan's three most beautiful. And last is Kanazawa Castle. The coolest, coolest thing about the castle was that there was free wifi on the grounds so we could FaceTime sister Geri and give her a tour while we were there. !!!!!!!  Tomorrow we'll be off northward to Wajima on Noto Peninsula where there is an outdoor marketplace offering a variety of seafood products. Me and Sweetie are in big trouble because our suitcases are loaded already. And we got one more week to go. !!!!!

J: always wondered how managed to lug your camera(S) around. I try to carry mines around but it literally weighs my neck down. Wow they keep you folks busy and how cool that Gerri could share an experience with you guyz. Technology is amazing!-N

N, I haven't even used my flash because I haven't wanted to carry around the extra weight with me.

We loved Kanazawa! We were there last September...beautiful city and park, castle, great foods...one thing we didn't like was hotel we stayed. So small and not very good WiFi connection.

I hope you'll have a nice day tomorrow!

Yes! We've been there. Shirakawago is awesome, isn't it? My point and shoot Canon is bulkier, but I was glad I brought it on our trip.
