My Easy Guacamole

Here's my lazy-style guacamole that I made using avocados that my high-school classmate N gave to me.  Thanks N!!

I mashed about three of the avocados and added a chopped tomato, cilantro, one minced garlic clove and some lime juice. Then I added in about 1/4 cup store-bought salsa verde. If raw onions didn't give me da gas nowadays I woulda added some in too. Very simple and tastes good enough for me.

This is the salsa that I used.

That looks so wonderful Jalna! Good for YOU! I just love Anything Mexican Food!

I can remember way back in the 1970's when it was almost impossible to find Mexican Salsa in Honolulu. And there were hardly even any Mexican Food Restaurants!

I remember a very small Mexican Food restaurant on Kapahulu Ave. I used to go to. And also "Mama's Mexican Food" on School Street!

These were the best two in the good old days! And they had the best salsa in da Islands!

It looks SO delicious, makes me wanna go yeeehaawww! (Remember the Costco sample lady?)

My mouth is watering - I can just imagine it with sour cream and/or bacon.

btw, just had a newsletter article about the great health benefits of avocado. Good quality fat, blasts away cancer, protect eyes, balance blood sugar, etc. Plus they are so delicious! Especially in easy guacamole!

Oh good, Jenny . . . they're still in business. I gotta go again soon to get my Japan fix.

Ohhh thanks, N. But I don't work on Fridays. So maybe another week when you're in the area!

OMG Mark, I forgot about Mama's Mexican Food!

Hahahaha . . . so funny, Aunty! I didn't realize avocado was so good for you. That makes me happy, happy!

Jalna.....I am now remembering that it was called.

"Mama's Mexican Kitchen".

That was my favorite place! Especially to go to after church on Sunday's.

A short drive down from my Church of the Nazarene on Judd Street. I think this was one of the first Mexican Food Restaurants on Oahu.

And about the only place to find chips and salsa back in the day!

It was always so hot in there! Especially in the hot afternoon sun!

But then finally they put one window style air conditioner way up high. And we were so happy! We used to sweet while eating all dat Hot Mexican Food!

...... YUMMERS!

I used to want salsa so bad, and could not find it on Oahu. I would call up my friends on the mainland and ask them to mail me bottles of it! My favorite at the time was La Victoria Salsa Supreama!

So I would receive Salsa care packages!.....LOL!

Can you imagine? ; )

I never even thought to make my own back then.
