LeTAO

LeTAO was one of the places that I wanted to visit in Otaru and I'm so glad that we got the chance to check it out when we were there.

We were given a variety of sample pieces to try and they were all so good.

I asked one of the girls if there was any way we could bring something home to Hawaii.  She apologized profusely and said that she didn't think it was possible, but she recommended that we go upstairs to their cafe where we could order some of their pastry to eat right then.

We thought it was a good idea so we went upstairs to the second floor and got a nice window seat where we could relax and enjoy the view.  This is the Double Fromage Cheesecake. Soooo good.

This Strawberry Shortcake was also very ono.

This Egg Salad Sandwich might be the best I've ever had.

Didi ordered this tea and used the word "comforting" to describe it, so I bought two tins to bring home.

When we went downstairs again, it had gotten really busy, no doubt a testament to its popularity.

Thinking of you and the next time you go to Japan, I looked it up, Les. They got several branches, but all in Hokkaido.

For sure, Kat! And the girl kept giving us sample after sample, because she felt bad that we wouldn't be able to take any of the pastry home with us.

Jalna....you did take home pastries.... but they just flew in a diff "compartment" ...

But I know you were just being polite and didn't want to hurt the salesgirls feelings !

Anon, I did end up buying a cheesecake dessert from the airport that got packed in a foil pouch with dry ice. I hand-carried it home. I know this might sound redundant, but REALLY . . . it was soooo good. I'm gonna post pictures of it later.
