I'm supposed to be cleaning out my closet. On Saturday it took me all day to clear out a fourth of the closet. Then on Sunday my family came over and my mom brought with her some old photos. I've been obsessing about them since then and haven't touched my closet. I went online and found a story about my grandma's older brother Kenji Horiuchi. It said that he struggled to put himself through college and eventually earned an engineering degree, but even though he graduated with honors no one would hire him because he was Japanese. Click here to check out the story. Then I found this link that showed me that my grandma's younger brother Yoshitaka Horiuchi coauthored a book with his son Koki Theodore Asakura. What's so interesting to me is the fact that when Hawaii-born Yoshitaka became enraged at the treatment that Japanese Americans endured during "war time" he moved to Japan leaving his family behind including his wife Haruko and son Koki. How Koki and he came to coauthor a book together later is such a mystery to me. My mother claims that Yoshitaka never, ever came back, and if I was Koki I'd hate my dad for leaving me. Wish I knew the story. I think I found Koki's phone number and mailing address. Maybe I'll write to him. He's 67 years old today.
Which kinda leads me to this writing. Can somebody tell me what it says? It's written behind the photo below it. I think the photo is of Yoshitaka and the start of his family. I can read the date which I think says October 28, 1945. Looks like the rest of the writing might be names?
