KCC Farmers' Market

The last time I went to the KCC Farmers' Market was in October 2008 - almost 3 years ago.  It's so neat that I can look up stuff like that on this blog.  Never thought I'd be blogging this long, but here I still am, and now I got this record of my comings and goings for the past few years.   A journal.  I got me a journal . . . a photographic journal.   Kinda cool.

I returned to the Farmer's Market today.  Wendell came along.  We immediately lost each other, it was so crowded.  Thank God for cell phones.  Remember back in the day?  Whenever you got separated from somebody, you'd waste your whole time looking for the other person, and then the other person would get all mad at you and say, "Wheredahell were you?"  Remember?

Anyway, I'm starting this post kinda backwards.  Want to show you what I came home with first.  This was amaaaaaazingly ono.  Hamakua mushrooms, roasted garlic, herbed butter, caramalized onions, all steamed in a pouch with bread for dipping.  Imagine escargot.  That's the flavor.

This is how it's packed for takeout, with hashi pinching the pouch shut.

This is the tent that I bought it from.  I don't even know the name . . .

I also bought these scones - blueberry, peach, pineapple and chocolate ($1.75 each)  . . .

and this Plantation Iced Tea ($2.50) . . .

from the KCC Culinary Arts tent.

I got this young ginger too $3.00/pound.

At the Bale tent was coworker Ronnie's wife, Cindy.  She's on the right.  She was there 3 years ago too.  Click here if you like see those pictures.

Here are the rest of the pictures, in no particular order, for you to see.

I don't think it's bigger Les. Seemed to occupy about the same area as before.

I think I gotta go back Betty. We only had an hour so I felt rushed.

Yeah Didi it was crowded with choke people already leaving when we got there.

Great food shots! The abalone is cheap, think I'll check it out.

Erick, they're only open 7:30 to 11:00. That means you gotta wake up in the morning.

So much food Dean, it's a bit overwhelming. I'm happy with what I came home with.
