Tysha and Tk

Thank you, thank you, thank you Tysha and Tk for coming out yesterday. It means so much to me that you were willing to brave the heat of the day so that I could practice shooting.

This first shot is my favorite, and it was purely accidental. I had at first planned to shoot from their right on the other side of the tree, but the wind kept blowing Tysha's hair into her face. I went to the opposite side, but a bench and cars spoiled the background. So I stood up high and shot down, ending up with this angle. The beautiful lighting on Tysha's and Tk's faces are courtesy Hiroma and Celia who were holding a reflector for me. Thank you assistants!!

Wow the jump came out so cool and how did you do the black and white except for Tk's shirt? - that is cool too! I especially like the lighting with the 3rd to the last shot.

Thanks Celia! The fountain in the jump shot was overexposed so I burned most of it. While I was doing so I accidentally burned a portion of the sky and I liked how it looked so I did it for the sky too. The black and white is a Lightroom preset called "Cold Tone". The lighting for the 3rd to the last shot is thanks to Hiromi's reflector skills!

Very cool! you picked some great spots for these shots.. I also liked the first shot too since it has such an interesting angles.. Also those sweeping pine trees made for a great background.. Nice shoot..and you guys had fun too..that's what really counts..

Thanks Shun Wah. It was kinda tricky trying to angle so as not to catch cars and buildings. And you're right . . . it was fun.

Thanks Kat!

Was this at Kapiolani Park? I love the banyan tree shot. do you think we could take our photos in this area on Sunday? remember, we're having dinner at the elks club afterwards, so remind Wendell to meet us there!

Fawn, I purposely chose this spot with our shoot in mind! The banyan tree is great, but we'd probably have to shoot from the other side, away from the afternoon sun.
