On March 26, 2010 former World Champion boxer Andy Ganigan was brutally assaulted leaving him with permanent brain damage. To help with mounting medical expenses, his friends and family held a fundraiser at Ige's Restaurant in Aiea. The outpouring of support was remarkable, a testiment to the legend and legacy that is Andy Ganigan. I'm so glad that I was able to attend and take a few pictures to share with those who couldn't make it to the event, honoring a fighter who once upon a time brought pride to these islands.

Great shots, great tribute to an amazing boxer!
Thanks Erick!
thanks for sharing this, I had no idea this had happened to him.
Kat, I didn't know about it either until I saw an ad for a videographer for the fundraiser. I feel so bad about what happened to him.
